Ladies' Day Out

Oh brother... What did I do to deserve this? I woke up yesterday morning and Mommy had this hairbrain idea to go shopping at the Legends. She needed a new swimsuit, because we have been going swimming a lot lately. So, we loaded everything up and headed north. Just to give you a timeframe, we left the house around 9:30. We went to JC Penney to look for Daddy a shirt, then to Target. Mommy bought me a Barney DVD for the ride back to Clay Center this weekend. By the time we left Target, I was getting pretty darn sleepy. We drove over to the Legends, and Mommy decided it would be fun to go to a movie together. Boy was she right! We went to our first Mother-Daughter movie and saw My Sister's Keeper. Mommy said it was a good movie... but not near as good as the book. We continued to shop, and FINALLY headed home around 6:00. What a long day!

It is safe to say that I have about a billion toys. However, my FAVORITE thing to play with is a tote. I like to put stuff in it and stand up next to it!

To make things worse, Mommy got us dressed in our swim gear and me and her went swimming!! Actually, I had a very fun time with her. I went to sleep as soon as we got done swimming (around 8). Overall, we had a very fun day and did lots of girly things... something Daddy probably would have rolled his eyes at!! :)

Today was much more laid back. I woke up at 5:30 this morning, and Mommy and I watched Barney. We took pictures inside and out... close to two hundred of them. Mommy thinks she's quite the professional now with her new camera. I always tell her that good pictures start with good subjects!!

Mommy dressed me in a very cute outfit today! I wore a pair of jean capris and a red checkered tank top. Daddy said I looked like his little cowgirl! Yee-Haw!!

We made Daddy some spaghetti tonight. He said it was very good... Mommy didn't think so. I am so excited for the rest of my evening, because it is going to just be me and Daddy. Mommy has homework to do and wants to finish it before this weekend!

Mommy's New Camera

And Mommy says I have too many toys! We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart yesterday, and Mommy got a new camera. She says it will be great, because her old camera was very slow at taking pictures. All I know is that I'm almost blind because of all the flashing I saw today... and I don't mean naked bottoms! Hehe.

Mommy and I went to the grocery store this morning and then chilled out at home. Have I ever told you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Barney? Well, I do. My favorite is to just sit on Daddy's lap and watch it... I've learned alllll about caterpillars and how they turn into butterflies. This knowledge will impress everyone when we go to the Butterfly Palace in Branson!

This is a picture of my lovey. She is so soft and cuddly. Grandma Sandy gave it to me, and I'm really starting to like it!
This evening, Daddy and Mommy took me to our pool to go swimming. I LOVE TO SWIM! So much, in fact, that it's possible I'm half fish... My favorite is to splash everyone- including myself!
Mommy says this picture is her favorite! I keep telling her she's silly, because every picture of me is good. She thinks she's quite the photographer now!
After waking up at 5:30 this morning and having a long day of shopping and swimming, I'm pooped! I better to go bed and rest my eyes... literally. I'm sure Mommy will take a million more pictures of me tomorrow!

No, No Daelynn!

I had such a great time with Grandpa and Grandma while they were here! They had to go back to Clay Center today to work this weekend :( Grandpa thought it was sooo funny to put his glasses on my face. Don't I look like a little professor?

While they were here, Grandpa and Grandma taught me how to be sooo big. I practiced on walking, but am not quite ready to go on my own yet. It feels so much safer on all fours... just like my best friends Pele, Pete, and Jake!
Mommy put this really stretchy bow on my head. She said that when I was younger it was too big, but now it fits just right!!! I love getting my picture taken, and know just how to pose for the camera!

Yesterday, Grandma and Mommy started teaching me to say, "No". Well, I can't say it yet, but I sure can mimic Mommy!

How Big Am I? Soooooo Big!

Today is the best day of my life... so far anyway. I turned 8 months old today. Can you believe that?? It seems like just yesterday I was kicking Mommy and giving her indigestion.

Here I am, contemplating life.
Grandpa and Grandma came to my house to see me, and we have played ALL day long! Grandpa hangs me upside down, which makes me giggle and giggle. THEN Grandma sits on the floor with me and lets me follow her around. We went grocery shopping around the living room with my shopping cart, and I even sang them a song. I wish they could visit everyday!

So I informed Mommy this morning that I am no longer her chubby little baby, so she better take pictures of my rolls while I still have them!

Mommy and Daddy say that climbing on the stairs is a bad habit, but I think it's kinda fun. They keep telling me that they're gonna buy a baby gate- whatever that means! I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm pretty much the biggest girl in the world now. In fact, let me show you exactly how big I really am!

Day With Mommy

Today was a pretty boring day. I decided to take THREE naps... which is unheard of. I'm usually a two nap-a-day chica. I think I'm so tired, because I'm working on my 7th and 8th teeth right now. #7 has popped through, but I'm waiting on pesky ol' #8. Nothing out of the ordinary happened today, EXCEPT I ate meat for the first time... chicken to be exact. Daddy and Mommy kept telling me I wasn't going to like it 'cuz they read it in some parenting book- but boy were they wrong. I lapped it right up AND finished my green beans and pears. I guess you could say I was a hungry girl.

Here's a picture of us from our weekend trip to the plaza. I kept telling the paparazzi, "No pictures, please" but they couldn't resist!

Too Busy to Write

Whew... I am wore out!  Let me tell you about the past week or so... I've been Add Imagesooo busy that I haven't had a free minute to sit down and tell you what's been happening in my life.  As I told ya last time, Mommy and I surprised my Grandpas and Grandmas back in Clay Center.  My allergies were really bothering me, so Grandpa took me on the tractor.  At first I wasn't too sure about it- but everytime Grandma would try to take me off, I didn't want to leave.

I've always been kinda a 8 or 8:30 kinda girl for bedtime.  During my stay in Clay Center, I went to bed around 10 each night!  I was very tired!

On Friday, Grandma, Auntie Danae, Mommy and I went to Topeka to see my cousin Addie from Texas.  We had a great time playing with La-La (my cousin Tori) and my Aunt Deanna.

We even bounced on their trampoline.  My Auntie Angela gave me this toy- it is like a music soundstage and I can practice my singing skills and dance moves in the mirror.

The next day, I went to the zoo for the very first time.  I didn't really know what to think... the only animals I've seen up close before were my dogs Pele, Pete, and Jake.

Here I am with the 'rents.  I'm not really too sure of what to think of Pa and Ma.  They're alright at keeping me fed and my diaper clean... but they're kinda weird!!  Thank goodness for Derek the Uncle and Aunt Chelsea- they keep me sane!

Auntie Angela and Wyatt met us at the zoo- I had such a great time with him!  He shows me how to do everything- I can't wait to be as big as him!

Here's me swinging on the swing at the zoo park.  I pretty much love to swing- so much in fact that Dad hung a swing from our ceiling in the basement so I could swing ANYTIME I want.  Wasn't that nice??

Okay so here's what I've been up to since Friday... Mom and I had this silly idea in our head that it would be fun to surprise Daddy for Father's Day and take him on a mini-vacation!  SOOO, Mommy made hotel reservations here in Kansas City for Friday and Saturday night.  On Friday morning, Mommy packed everything up while Daddy was at work and then we went and put everything in our hotel room.  When Daddy got off work, we told him we had a surprise for him, and we blindfolded him!

He had no idea what we had planned!  It worked out perfectly!  On Saturday, I went swimming for the first time!!!

The water was pretty cold, but I'm tough.  After a little while, I even started to LIKE the water and splashed a little.  I can't wait until the 4th of July when I get to go swimming again in Clay Center!

Mommy and I did not want to get out of the water... but Daddy said it was time.  It probably was- we had been swimming for about 30 minutes!  P.S. My bikini sure is cute, huh?

We had a great time on our first family vacation and Daddy says his first Father's Day has been perfect.  I probably better get to playing with all of my toys... but don't worry, I'll still stay ornery as ever!!!

Peace out!

Sneaky, Sneaky

Mommy and I are sooo sneaky!  I woke this morning at 7:30 to find my bags all packed and a bottle of milk waiting for me.  I never get to have a bottle of milk right in the morning so I knew something was suspicious.  Also, Mommy was showered and smelled good- which NEVER happens until the afternoon!  Well, you can imagine my surprise when Mommy loaded me in the car and we went and said good bye to Daddy at work.  We were on our way to Clay Center to see my grandpas and grandmas.

We got to Clay Center a little bit after noon.  We went to Grandpa and Grandma Rothfuss' house first.  We quietly got out of the car and walked into their house.  Grandma was on the phone with Daddy and when she saw me, she ran across the room and said "Oh my gosh, your wife is here with your daughter!"  Our surprise worked!!!

Grandma bought me the cutest hat!

After our afternoon nap, Mommy and I went up to Grandpa and Grandma Mac's house.  There was this weird looking creature that was very hairy and she panted a lot.  Mommy said it was a doggy named Letty.  I was very scared of Letty at first...

Grandpa said he would protect me from Letty, so I stayed on his lap for a little while during supper.  Can you believe they ate pizza right in front of me and didn't offer me a bite... HOW RUDE!
But the longer I was there, the more I liked her.  By the end of the night, I was crawling EVERYWHERE chasing after Miss Letty.

Then, Grandma pulled out one of Wyatt's toys.  It was a rocking horse that made noises.  I stood on it all by myself and rocked back and forth!  I really, really like the horse (so much that I asked for one for my birthday!).

I played with Wyatt for quite a while.  He has this really cool play mat that you step on and it makes music.  We played on that for quite a while, and he showed me how to dance!

We have had a great time thus far in Clay Center, and we still have 3 days left here!  I can't wait to let you know what we do today!

Game Night with my Boys

Mommy and I had a great day today! We spent the day as we usually do: eating, napping, and playing. I kept trying to pull myself up on the side of my bouncer all day long but with no success. Daddy got home from work around 5:30 and we played while Mommy made BBQ meatballs for supper.

Daddy even fed me my supper... green beans and summertime peaches. Then we had a heart to heart talk about life and how the Royals are really in a slum right now.
After dinner, I decided there was no time like the present to work on my swinging skills.
Going, going, gone! Home run! Mommy helped me work on my swing and told me to open my stance and choke up on the bat. That was me knocking that ball out of the park (aka living room). You are NEVER going to believe what Daddy and Derek the Uncle did... they saw me playing ball and then they had to play...
Only they played baseball on the Playstation. I kept trying to get a hold of the controller, but Mommy and Daddy kept saying "No" again. I'm still not so sure what that means.

Daddy rocked me and put me to bed tonight. I was pretty content at first, but then I decided to start wailing. I cried and cried and then I cried some more. Did I mention that I cried? Finally, Daddy couldn't take it anymore so he sent Mommy upstairs with a little bit more milk. You know what she saw?...

I was standing up in my crib! I almost knocked Mommy's socks off. She left me there crying long enough to get her camera and take these pictures. How mean, huh?
